About us
About Traumatic Grief Solutions
We work with organization, teams, and employees in several different ways to accomplish the same goal: Preparedness and Well-being in the event of unexpected grief and trauma.
Traumatic Grief Solutions emerged from the firsthand experiences of Dr. Jennifer R. Levin, a traumatic grief therapist. Throughout her career she saw the challenges businesses and schools faced in crisis situations following unexpected grief and trauma and took action to develop a platform and a team to address the gaps in preparedness and planning. Today, the team at Traumatic Grief Solutions is continuously developing and delivering essential tools, training, resources, and support to clients throughout the United States. Our mission is clear: to assist you in preparing for unforeseen circumstances, thereby reducing the pain and disruption associated with life’s most challenging situations.
Our mission is simple. We help you prepare for the unexpected to minimize the pain and disruption of some of the worst situations in life.
About our Founder, Dr. Jennifer R. Levin
Dr. Levin specializes in working with individuals and organizations experiencing traumatic grief, unexpected and sudden death, and post-traumatic growth. In 2000, Jennifer received her doctorate from the UCLA School of Public Health, and in 2014 she earned her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University. Jennifer is a licensed marriage and family therapist in California and Washington and has a part-time private practice, Therapy Heals. She is a recognized Fellow in Thanatology; the study of death, dying and bereavement, from the Association of Death Education and Counseling.
Dr. Levin has over a decade of experience providing crisis support in the corporate environment after a sudden or unexpected loss. She responds to businesses, communities, and schools after a death to help leadership and administration meet the grief needs of staff and employees. She is skilled in conversing with employees and business leaders about topics that are difficult to discuss and helps organizations stabilize and thrive after the chaos that often occurs with an unforeseen loss and trauma. Dr. Levin’s programs and traumatic grief expertise help transform a crisis into an event that leaders can successfully and thoughtfully navigate
Jennifer provides training, consultation, and professional grief education to mental health professionals, clergy, and first responders working in the field of sudden or unexpected death. She is the host of the podcast “Untethered: Healing the Pain from a Sudden Death”. Her upcoming book, The Traumatic Loss Workbook: Powerful Skills for Navigating the Grief Caused by a Sudden or Unexpected Death, will be released by New Harbinger Publications in July of 2025.
Jennifer’s work regarding sudden death provides a constant reminder of the fragility and unpredictability of life. During the pandemic, she decided to pursue her dream to live somewhere peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful, and Jennifer and her therapy dog, Winnie, relocated from southern California to Whidbey Island in Puget Sound, Washington. For her own restoration and enjoyment, she plays Mahjong with friends, practices Pilates, hikes, and spends time outside and exploring the Pacific Northwest.
